Optimizing Athletic Performance - Presentation at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine

Join Dr. Cayla on Tuesday December 4th at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine room 119 from 6:30 - 9:30 pm, where  she will be giving a talk on sports medicine and optimizing performance for athletes.

This talk will help  to educate you on macro and micro-nutrients needed to enhance recovery after exercise, and what components might be missing to improve body composition depending on the type of activity you engage in. Questions are welcomed throughout the talk and healthy treats  will be provided.

Sudbury Fitness Fest: Sports Medicine Presentation by Dr. Cayla, ND

Sudbury Fitness Fest is an annual local fundraiser that happens every summer. The main focus is to bring our community together in a healthy and active way. Sudbury Yogathon for Mental Health

The Sudbury Yogathon for Mental Health is a one-day community event in support of mental health awareness throughout Greater Sudbury.  The Yogathon hopes to engage community members of all fitness levels, and to be an easy-going day of multi-leveled yoga styles. All proceeds from the event will be donated to NISA/Northern Initiative for Social Action, a peer-run mental health organization providing vital services and programs to people with lived experience of mental illness.

There will also be exhibitors on-site to provide local products such as health foods, coffee, mental health information, clothing, and natural health products.

Dr. Cayla will be doing a segment with Meg Bonhomme on body positivity, showcasing modifications for common injuries and  modifications people should take when engaging in a yoga practice. Yoga is for everyBODY!

Free guest lecture for Dr. Beauchamp's anthropology class at Laurentian University (ANTR 4007 EL01). Today's topic will discuss the role of naturopathic doctors in today's healthcare system. What is a naturopathic doctor? How can naturopathic medicine help you?

 

Dr. Cayla will be discussing the unique scope of naturopathic medicine and how naturopathic doctors differ from other healthcare providers. We will shed light on the extensive training of naturopathic doctors, along with their role as primary care doctors in Ontario. This will be an interactive discussion where questions are welcomed throughout the talk. Special topics covered: herbalism, patient case examples, medication interactions, nutritional medicine and more!

Cayla will then guide you through a prenatal yoga session as you learn about poses for relieving pregnancy discomfort, poses to prep for your body and mind for birth, modifications so you can safely do yoga during every trimester of your pregnancy, and how to make prenatal yoga a regular practice during this exciting chapter of your life!
